Syracuse University Whitman School of Management MS in Supply Chain Management

The Whitman Difference: A Legacy in Supply Chain Leadership.

The Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University is home to the nation’s first supply chain management (SCM) program.

Our history of preparing accomplished supply chain professionals dates back to 1919 when our school was first founded and a specialization in traffic and transportation was offered. Since then, our program has evolved into one of national prominence. Our renowned faculty pioneers innovation that improves efficiencies in SCM, and they help train graduates to make early and meaningful contributions in the marketplace.

In today’s global economy, successfully managing the logistics within an organization, and between organizations, requires a solid knowledge base and honed strategic thinking skills.

The new MS in SCM at Whitman entails a challenging, globally immersed curriculum and a myriad of opportunities to gain relevant, real-world experience. This combination of classroom and experiential learning works to build your confidence in maneuvering the most complex supply chain scenarios. And the analytical skills gained through the curriculum extend well to understanding the implications of any business decision.

Understanding the varying needs of students who wish to pursue an MS in SCM, we have shaped our program around two degree paths. We offer a traditional academic-year plan for students looking for a more traditional option and a 16-month plan for students who want to spread out their academic credits and incorporate a concentrated summer internship into their course of study.

Both degree tracks include the same comprehensive curriculum taught by our award-winning faculty. And, no matter which path you choose, you will have many opportunities to exponentially enhance your education through participation in professional organizations, internships, competitions and corporate visits.

These experiences in and out of the classroom—combined with Whitman’s excellent reputation among corporate recruiters—keep our undergraduate and graduate supply chain programs consistently recognized among the best by leading publications and organizations, such as Transportation and Distribution Management, The Princeton Review, U.S. News & World Report, Gartner and Bloomberg Businessweek. And, most importantly, these advantages will equip you to positively impact any company’s bottom line, giving you a decided edge as you interview with potential employers.
