CNH Global: Two Product Flows - One Global Operating Platform

The agricultural and construction equipment manufacturer embraced a cloud-based platform to gain visibility into its inbound and outbound flows.

As a worldwide manufacturer, CNH deals with inbound and outbound flows for its agricultural and construction equipment: inbound components from its suppliers that are either delivered to depots or move on to plants; and whole goods, which are produced at CNH plants and sent to dealers for purchase.

CNH chose the GT Nexus platform as its path to supply chain visibility. At the time, the company was dealing with various ERP systems, a large number of suppliers and carriers, and a handful of 3PLs and freight forwarders. These partners joined a single network — allowing for a single source of visibility data.

Dror Noach, VP of Distribution Logistics at CNH, stated at the outset: “We are planning to expand the work we started with GT Nexus to other markets and processes, in order to gain visibility and improve control of our global shipments through the application of a standard approach.”

Since 2008, CNH has completed multiple bids on the GT Nexus Platform, including a containerbid in 2011 and a container and air freight bid in 2012.

In 2012, CNH began implementing a visibility solution with GT Nexus at a global level. By mid-2013, the manufacturer will have greatly improved visibility into components and finished goods. The platform allows for monitoring partner performance based on high-quality data, and increased customer service.
