New supply chain degrees added to university degree programs

Los Angeles Pacific University (LAPU) announces the launch of two new online programs in Fall semester 2018: a Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management (BSSCM) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA).

“We’re excited to grow the university’s portfolio of business degree options for students looking to advance their careers and specialize in specific, in-demand disciplines,” said Dr. Lisa Philips, Assistant Dean of Business Programs. “As with all LAPU programs, these new degrees have been designed by professionals who are subject matter experts in their fields. In the case of Supply Chain Management, that includes senior management from companies like Amazon.”

The BSSCM program builds on a core of business courses in LAPU’s Bachelor of Arts in Management program, including foundational accounting, economics, business, and management courses. Upper division Supply Chain Management courses combine a solid theoretical underpinning with a relevant experiential approach, enabling students to develop the knowledge expertise and practical skills necessary for a successful career in this growing industry.

A sustainable supply chain is one that is managed ethically and based upon the concept of the triple bottom line — people, profit, and the planet. LAPU’s BSSCM program strives to graduate students who understand and can apply the principle of biblical stewardship, which is based on a moral law that encompasses and supersedes the triple bottom line framework.

The MBA program offers an advanced business management degree for students who have business experience but want to upgrade their knowledge and skills in order to take on increased responsibilities and manage businesses more effectively. Focusing on such topics as strategic decision making, leading change, and making the most of technological solutions, LAPU’s MBA blends theoretical constructs with practical problem-solving skills that are needed to be effective senior leaders in today’s rapidly changing business environment. LAPU’s online learning environment and low tuition make it convenient and affordable for busy business leaders to advance their business effectiveness through this MBA program.

These programs represent the newest additions to the catalog of Associate, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degree offered at LAPU.
