Hytrol showcases new plastic chain conveying system

Engineered for transport of food, packaging and pharmaceuticals, the Connex plastic conveyor chain was featured in a presentation on Tuesday by Bruce Gray, product manager, at Hytrol (Booth 2724).

The plastic chain will be offered on Hytrol’s aluminum, stainless steel and powder-coated steel conveyor products in a variety of configurations and with multiple accessories, he said.

“All components are lightweight and modular for easy installation with no welding required in the field,” noted Gray. Already available, the aluminum version uses a positive drive, and is anodized to ensure corrosion resistance. The stainless steel version, available soon, will have an all-stainless steel frame for easy cleaning and construction from FDA-approved materials.

“The powder-coated steel version will be available in all standard Hytrol colors,” he added.

A variety of custom configurations and options for horizontal curves and diverts at any angle may be specified, Gray said, noting specifically a slave-driven turntable and guiderails. To prevent cross contamination, the conveyors are all built in a separate facility at Hytrol’s Jonesboro, Ark. plant.

Modex 2016 is scheduled to be held April 4-7, 2016 in Atlanta’s Georgia World Conference Center. The tradeshow will showcase the latest manufacturing, distribution and supply chain solutions in the material handling and logistics industry. Modern’s complete Modex coverage.
