EnerSys’ battery and charger system for burden carriers delivers fast charging

EnerSys (Booth 603) highlighted its NexSys battery and charger system for burden carriers, stock chasers, floor care and cleaning machines, automatic guided vehicles and other industrial utility vehicles.

Built with thin plate pure lead (TPPL) technology, NexSys batteries offer optimized cycling performance and rapid recharging that surpasses conventional gel or flooded lead acid batteries, said Chad Uplinger, GM of specialty markets for EnerSys. Combined with the NexSys battery charger, the system is optimized for opportunity and fast charging.

“Conventional lead acid batteries that power burden carriers and other industrial utility vehicles can take up to 12 hours to recharge,” said Uplinger. “Plus, the need for frequent watering and battery changes drive up costs and impact productivity. The NexSys battery and charger system can recharge in less than three hours.”

NexSys batteries feature an absorbed glass mat (AGM) separator with high electrolyte absorption and stability to enhance cyclic capability. Positive and negative plates are low impedance, corrosion-resistant thin plate grids manufactured from pure lead.

“Visitors to the EnerSys exhibit will have the opportunity to see the NexSys battery installed in an actual stock chaser,” said Uplinger. “There is an exponential increase in productivity from burden carrier vehicles with this system.”
