The average price per gallon of diesel gasoline headed up 2.4 cents to $2.556 per gallon this week, according to data issued by the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA).
This snaps a three-week stretch on declines of 0.7 cents, 2.5 cents, and 1.5 cents, respectively.
That recent run of declines was preceded by a five-week run of mini-gains, which saw from the week of February 6 to the week of March 6, with the average price seeing a cumulative 2.1-cent gain.
The average price per barrel of West Texas Intermediate Crude headed up over $50 per barrel, following a stretch of weeks under $50 due to high inventories.
Compared to the same week a year ago, the average price per gallon of diesel is up 44.1 cents.
