The national average price per gallon for diesel gasoline saw a 1.9-cent gain this week to $3.226 per gallon, according to the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA).
This follows a 0.01-cent decline last week and a 0.06-cent decline the week before.
Compared to the same week a year ago, the average price per gallon is up 62.1 cents.
West Texas Intermediate Crude oil is currently trading at $68.87 on the New York Mercantile Exchange, which is ahead of last week’s average of $66.43.
The EIA’s Short-Term Energy Outlook pegs the average prices for diesel to be $3.15 and $3.11 in 2018 and 2019, respectively, with WTI a $66.21 and $64.34 for the same period.
