Crane handles portable lifting needs

A new lightweight, portable aluminum gantry crane from Gorbel (Booth 3623) fits the need for localized lifting in applications such as plant maintenance.
The crane can handle capacities up to 2 tons, explained Kevin Duhamel, product sales manager for workstation and jib cranes, but can be easily moved in components, assembled and collapsed for storage. Potential applications might include maintenance of machinery in plants and warehouses, installing air handling equipment on roofs or construction.
“It’s ideal for areas or applications where there is premium on being able to easily move and set up a gantry crane, and then break it down again and store it away,” said Duhamel.
ProMat 2011 will be held March 21 - 24, 2011 at McCormick Place South in Chicago. The tradeshow will showcase the latest manufacturing, distribution and supply chain solutions in the material handling and logistics industry.
